These terms apply to clearance services provided by Mind the Clearance Ltd ("we", "us") to you (the "customer"). They’re written in plain English on purpose.
All quotes are fixed in writing before we start work and valid for 14 days. If the volume on the day is materially different from the quote (more, fewer, or substantially heavier items), we’ll re-quote and proceed only with your written agreement.
Jobs are confirmed once you’ve replied to the quote in writing. For jobs over £600 we take a 25% deposit. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the booked window; cancellations within 24 hours forfeit the deposit.
You’re responsible for ensuring we can access the property at the agreed time. If we arrive and cannot access (no answer, locked, blocked) we may charge a £75 abortive-visit fee.
You confirm at the walk-through that everything to be removed belongs to you (or that you have the legal right to dispose of it). Anything you want to keep must be flagged before the job starts, ideally tagged or set aside. Once items have left the property they cannot be retrieved.
We will not take asbestos (unless a licensed contractor has removed it first), live ammunition, illegal substances, or live animals. Hazardous chemicals (paint, fuels) and regulated items (fridges, mattresses) attract per-item licensed-disposal fees, flagged in your quote.
We carry £5m public liability and goods-in-transit insurance. If we damage your property or items in our care, please tell us within 7 days; we’ll resolve the claim through our insurance.
Payment is due on completion by bank transfer or card. Account customers (post-credit-check) on 14 days net.
If we identify items of resale value, we’ll agree a percentage with you in writing. Where we re-sell, your share is credited against the invoice within 60 days of sale.
Every job produces a Waste Transfer Note as required by UK environmental law. We retain a copy for 2 years.
Our total liability for any single job is limited to the value of that job, except in cases of death or personal injury caused by negligence (where liability is unlimited as required by law).
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
