Same-day for single-item and small van-load jobs in KT and surrounding postcodes when slots are available; otherwise typically within 2–4 days. Out-of-hours and weekend slots available.
Every job gets a free, no-obligation quotation in writing. Smaller jobs we can quote from a couple of WhatsApp photos and a postcode — usually within the hour. Whole-house, probate and commercial jobs get a free site survey (in person or by video) before we send the written quotation. The price you agree is the price you pay — no hourly rates, no surprises on the day.
No. We can collect keys, video-call the walk-through, and send paperwork digitally. Many of our probate clients are out of the area.
Both. We don’t accept cash on jobs over £500. Account terms (14 days) available for repeat commercial clients.
Yes to fridges and mattresses (small surcharge for licensed disposal). Paint, chemicals and asbestos are handled through specialist licensed routes — please flag in advance.
Asbestos (unless a licensed contractor has removed it first), live ammunition, and anything illegal. Hazardous chemicals and clinical waste are quoted via specialist partners.
We sort everything: re-saleable items go to charity partners or auction, recyclables go to licensed processors, and only what genuinely cannot be re-used or recycled goes to disposal. We aim for 90%+ landfill diversion and can show you where items ended up.
Yes — registered with the Environment Agency as an Upper Tier waste carrier (no. CBDU000000). We provide a waste transfer note for every job, retained for 2 years as the law requires.
Yes — £5m public liability, employers’ liability, and goods-in-transit insurance. Certificates available on request.
Yes. Every member of crew has a basic DBS check on file before they work in a customer’s home.
Yes. We can hold a slot, do an inventory visit only, and clear once paperwork is through.
We photograph anything that looks valuable before it moves and can refer to a local valuer (no fee). For confirmed valuables we recommend they leave with the executor, not the clearance crew.
Yes. Before-and-after photos are included as standard and can be used to support deposit deductions.
Yes — after the second job, on 14-day terms. Email hello@mindtheclearance.co.uk with your portfolio size.
Yes. Removals is the cousin of clearance — same vans, same family crew. We’ll happily quote a removal-only job, a clearance-only job, or both legs together (often with a saving for the combined day).
Two weeks ahead is comfortable; four weeks ahead for end-of-month and bank holidays. Same-week moves possible — ring us and we’ll be honest about availability.
Optional add-on, priced per room. Boxes, paper, tape and the slow afternoon of doing it for you. About half our customers pack themselves; the other half hand it over.
Yes — our goods-in-transit cover applies. Per-item limit and certificate are in your written quotation. For high-value items (art, antiques, family heirlooms over £5,000), we’ll discuss a specific schedule before the move.
